MINSK, 21 November (BelTA) – Belarus has formed a system of theater festivals, Culture Minister of Belarus Pavel Latushko told media ahead of the Panorama Theater Forum opening ceremony in Minsk.
“The festival is wrapping up the autumn theater season in Belarus. The forum is important for theater-goers, and we are determined to support it in the future,” the minister underlined. In his words, this year’s festival has become a bright example of cooperation with business organizations (its general partner is Belvnesheconombank).
The Culture Minister said that such festivals are vital for both professionals and amateurs. The theater art needs constant development through contacts with cultural establishments of other countries. Pavel Latushko added that the Culture Ministry supports and sponsors tours of national theaters overseas. Tours within the country also get close attention.
The minister read out the Belarus President’s message of greetings to the participants and guests of the forum.
The founders of the 5th International Theater Festival Panorama which is to stay open until 27 November are the Culture Ministry of Belarus, the Minsk City Hall, and the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater. The festival is biennial.
